Italian Wine Shop
In 1993 Alfredo Buglioni purchased the old farmhouse of his dreams, in the heart of the Valpolicella Classica. With the property came a 4-hectare vineyard, planted with local red varieties Corvina, Corvinone, Molinara and Rondinella. At first they had no idea what to do with that year's harvest, so they approached big-name producers and offered their harvest. For seven years they continued to donate their grapes. With the 2000 vintage, they undertook their first serious efforts in winemaking. They relied on a consultant to set up their cellars under the farmhouse and to produce the first vintage of 12,000 bottles. In 2001, the winemaker Diego Bertoni arrived in the company, still leading the winery. To date, the Buglioni winery has reached 50 hectares of vineyards in Valpolicella Classica, 5 in Lugana and 5 in the Bardolino area, all organically managed since 2019. Buglioni produces distinctive wines and combines the reference typologies of Valpolicella with some more original and pure ones, which reveal the authentic character of the territory and the native varieties.
